MORE ABOUT CHANTAL

Chantal Solarsh obtained her BA. Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology (Cum Laude), and Master's in Audiology (Cum Laude) at the University of the Witwatersrand. She completed her community service year at Tambo Memorial Hospital. Chantal was awarded the Golden Key award in all her years of studying, Myrtle Aron Award for the best community project, Medifix Audiology Award for best academic record in Audiology as well as the AB Clemons award for her research presentation. She has presented her research at the ENT/SASLHA/SAAA Conference and subsequently was awarded the Post-Graduate Merit Award for academic excellence which allowed her to continue her research as a Master's.

Chantal completed her Master's degree (Cum Laude) and focused on classroom acoustics. By working with acoustic engineers and architects, Chantal found a low-cost yet effective method to acoustically treat existing classrooms to improve the learning and teaching environments of South African classrooms.

Chantal has been trained by all the popular hearing aid companies in Johannesburg making her skilled with the latest technology to manage hearing loss. Chantal has obtained further certification in Vestibular Disorders with the American Institute of Balance, as well as the Master Course in Auditory Processing Disorder with the Auditory Processing Institute (API) based in New Zealand. Chantal is one of the first audiologists in South Africa to be personally trained by Dr. Angela Alexander directly with the API on Central Auditory Processing Disorder. Chantal has been mentored by international specialists who use alternative methods in treating Auditory Processing Disorder. Chantal is constantly keeping up with the newest methods to ensure that her assessment and practical knowledge is of the most recent research and gold-standard solutions. She is registered with the HPCSA.

 
Chantal has been in private practice for many years and is passionate about Audiology and puts emphasis on an empathetic and holistic approach to assisting clients. She has an innate ability to work with patients of all ages. She is here to help, she understands that hearing aids are an investment and works together with each individual to ensure they are comfortable with their budget and getting the best technology she can for you.

Chantal's favourite sounds are her daughter's laugh and anything in nature. The bush and the beach are her best places to visit. Chantal is married (and practices under her maiden name, Kassuto), she has a daughter named Gia, and she also has two little dogs, who all keep her very busy! You can always find Chantal spending time with her friends and family, or learning something new in her spare time.
